Cultural excursion to Tequila
This excursion includes a visit to Latin America's oldest distillery, La Rojeña, with a tour of the "Reserva de la Familia" winery, a tasting of 3 glasses of Linea Dobel or 1800, a taquiza buffet lunch, access to the bar and a Mariachi accompaniment.

On April 15, 1530, Fray Juan Calero and Cristóbal de Oñate, accompanied by groups of natives, founded the town of Santiago de Tequila on the site of today's municipality. However, it wasn't until 1824 that Tequila was given the name Villa de Tequila. The town of Tequila is the birthplace of the artisanal drink of the same name, whose origins go back several centuries.

Why is Tequila a Pueblo Magico?
Tequila Jalisco was named a magical town in 2003, because it possesses symbolic attributes, legends, history, transcendent facts and customs that are unique in the country.

Tequila traditions and customs
The blessing: every day at nine o'clock in the evening, the temple priest offers a blessing, three bells are rung, from the first one all the people stand up and turn towards the temple, at the third bell the priest gives the blessing.
El Señor de los Desamparados: before the rains begin, it is customary to carry the "Señor de los Rayos" (Lord of Lightning) on people's shoulders and form a pilgrimage, asking for rains without storms so that harvests will be abundant.
The Cantaritos: In June, on the day of the "los cantaritos", it is customary to go out into the countryside to play with small hollow clay balls, with small pebbles inside, like rattles that break when played with.
