Prof. De Cendra from Universidad Francisco de Vitoria (UFV), Spain, submitted a proposal to create a new research group on the global common good to navigate the epochal change.
UFV has set up a Center on this topic within the university, namely the Center for the Global Common Good. The group spent one year by inviting colleagues from six disciplines to learn from each other about the concept and then see from each discipline how the concept was understood. The next step consists of applying the concept of global common good to specific challenges with a view to approaching one topic per year. The main goal is to shed light on the concept and its application to various challenges from the Catholic intellectual tradition’s perspective.
The group has identified various colleagues/institutions and would like to refine and consolidate the network with the IFCU help. The partners invited so far come from the United States, Mexico, Italy, but scholars from Africa and Asia are still lacking. The group is thinking of publishing a volume per year on each of the topics studied, which would be helpful for political institutions, economic organisations, etc.
