Synopsis
This presentation explores Collaborative Online International Learning (COIL) as an innovative educational methodology that creates opportunities for students and faculty from different parts of the world to engage in meaningful intercultural collaboration. Through virtual exchange projects, participants go beyond traditional classroom boundaries to share perspectives, co-create knowledge, and build connections across cultures. The talk will highlight how COIL fosters skills essential for global citizenship — empathy, open-minded dialogue, and effective communication across differences. By centering collaboration and intercultural learning, COIL not only enriches academic experiences but also serves as a pathway to peacebuilding, helping learners cultivate the habits of cooperation and mutual respect that underpin sustainable peace.
